According to an advert in the new edition of Plan B (Dirty Projectors on the cover) the Monkeywrench 'Gabriels Horn' album is due for release (in the UK at least) on Feb 11th. Via Birdman records I presume... this of course could be wrong. Distribution by Pinnacle. I am chasing up my 'industry contacts' for confirmation of this date  thanks |

I've just realised that I have had - for some time now (a year or two at least) 2 of the tracks from the forthcoming album on an Estrus CD sampler (Estrus of course were mooted to release this 'years' ago before they ceased trading - have they ceased trading?) anyways.... The CD is pretty good it's the Estrus Double Dyn-o-mite Sampler cat # ES1288D - not sure the year it came out - but these tracks have been in the can for a while.
The two M'wrench tracks are Black Plastic Tarp and Low On Air. However on the CD they get the tracklisting wrong. Anyways - they are really good. Like Mudhoney - it seems to all come together when these dudes play together. Know what I mean. It just works.
So yeah - album late next month. Nice!

Yeah, you are right. i have a same sampler. not sure are these monkeywrench tracks same versions than in coming up album but i think so... awh and that sapler release date was February 19, 2002 !!! |
