Saw 5 hardcore bands yesterday, went into the pit two times and didn't get hurt really so I'm ready! The best bands yesterday were Restless Youth, a Bad Brains sounding band from Holland with a cheesy bandname, and a Belgian band named Rise & Fall, who got their album produced by a Converge member and will be touring with Doomriders. Also, since Rise & Fall played pretty heavy, I got the guitar player - who surprisingly wore a Pentagram shirt - if he knew the Melvins, and he sure did. Later that bight I watched an improv band, I don't know their name but it sounded like a twisted version of Greg-Ginn-tries-jazz-era-Flag and Cream. So yeah, Melt-Banana coming up. I'm curious how they will respons when I say hello to them from Buddah, a mutual friend we have who lives in San Francisco. I'm jealous of all people he knows, see lefthandpathos.blogspot.com/2005/11/jimmy-bower-eyehategod-that-was-nice.html for example.

Melt-Banana were great. Unfortunately the crowd was pretty lame. Instead of people who were looking for a great time, the crowd consisted more of music nerds who think Melt-Banana are just really fascinating, or something like that. This also caused there wasn't really a mosh pit, although I tried to start one a few times. Anyway, M-B played super fast, loud and tight, they were all awesome. Those short songs were awesome! Especially what the singer said after every song ("Thank You! Next son's called.."), hilarious.

not very many bands come around here good ones at least and all of our venues have banned our punk bands for bringing the wrong audiance around. all we have now is "emo" shows, but i heard that there might be some good shows comming up
