she does have talent. first sessions,pretty on the inside and live thru this were amazing albums, end off story. pah ok she uis wearing thin now but you cant deny the fact that those three albums were amazing stuff and deserve respect.

her music firstly ripped of mudhoney (when i was a teenage whore = sweet young thing aint sweet no more) then nirvana on live thru this every song is ripped off. then arent good in fact she has no talent and all of her music sucked ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok time for a post!
My memories of Ms Love.
1st up. Seeing the original line up of Hole support Mudhoney at the Zap Club in 1991? They weren't very good that night and they knew it.
Remember folks they were invited to tour with Mudhoney. This is pre-Kurt business. The Eric, Jill, Courtney and Caroline line up. Playing stuff off of Pretty On The Inside. They were grungey and funny and frankly not that great. Courtney apologised a lot for sucking and seemed to ramble on about the Smiths and stuff. The band seemed pretty off and under-rehearsed for a band who were on tour. Mudhoney were good that night. Sure I've said that before. I didn't see Hole live again until I think 1999? Both at the Glastonbury Fest and at Brixton Academy. This is post-Kurt business.
2nd up. My fave memory is being around the Brighton house of a famous 'grunge' journo who shared a house with two folks from a famous 'riot grrrl' band and listening to phone messages that Ms Love and Kurt had left famous riot grrl couple (with said Riot Grrl couple). Rambling madness from the pair of them. This was at the time of Kurt and Courtney's imperial post Nevermind period. I wish I could remember what was said but I can't. Kurt seemed kinda cool I suppose. I think he was being egged on to say nice things about the band I was with. Seemed to dig them though!
As for Courtney. Who the frick knows eh. Certainly she ain't no saint. I think she had a tough time growing up. My wife - who has just walked into the room wants to say something - she thinks a lot of the anti Ms Love sentiment is just plain old misogyny and a failure to recognise how damaged Ms Love was as a person. She says its ok to accept Kurts damage mentally but not Courtneys. Why is that?
So there ya go.
Can someone explain the Sweet Young Thing - Teenage Whore connection? I don't understand.

Maybe cos Kurt wasn't going around acting like a prick, well not publicly at least.
I personally don't really have much against Courtney but the whole idea of her walking around and making a fool out of herself annoys me, especially as she has a kid who I thing is gonna go the same way as Courtney.

Smallstone if you'r wife is going to ATP with you im gonna buy her a pint You'r wife is right about the fact that courtney had a really hard time growing up being thrown from relitive to friends and other various members of her family all over the place it has been well documented that her childhood was pretty grim drugs being a big factor of it with close friends dying and shit and so on..I know this cant really excuse her attitude sometimes and what not but just remember that she hasnt had it easy.The press also dont make it easier on her they will do their best to make her out this big monster which i guess she has played up to over the years,As i said previous i do respect the woman and adore some of the music she's done (Her solo album not being part of it) I mean pretty on the inside (for me) was a masterpiece and what with Kim Gordon & the Mighty Don Flemming producing it that album just hit the nail right on the head but yes when i hear of some of the stupid things she is still doing now it kinda upsets me i mean you would have throught she'd learnt to keep her trap shut over the years but no,She is kinda wearing thin with me now but i still respect the woman none the less. P.s I also am struggling to understand thorns comment of hole ripping off mudhoney,If anyone comes up with the goods you can win tickets to the next mudhoney uk show. lol H8kurdt..Hehe i'll take those comments on the chest and say the old saying..We Shag Them You Eat Them. |
