Mudhoney is ready to start the recording sessions in early June 2005. They have three different sessions booked: one with Johnny Sangster (who did a couple of songs on the last record) one with Phil Ek and one with Turker Martine.
Mark told me also: "We've never worked with Phil or Turker so we're curious to see how that works"
more later...

Does anybody know anything about either of these 2 dudes work? Phil Ek and Turker Martine (what a great name!!). I'm gonna Google em see what comes up? You know just curious as to who they have worked with in the past, what kind of studios they use..... dull stuff like that.

Ok, again I'm gonna be looking really sad replying to my own posts... I'm sorry folks! So anyway these producer dudes...its Tucker Martine - not Turker. Still a lovely name:) Check out his site at: www.mountanalog.com/I never know if these links are gonna work...sorry! And Phil Ek at: www.philek.com/Tucker has done some recent cool stuff, Laura Veirs, Jesse Sykes and Jim White. Tucker seems to have worked with LOADS of people (even Earth!!). Worth checking out his Built To Spill produced stuff. Anyway Johnny Sangster aside from being one hell of a nice guy can be found here: www.sangstermania.com/I'm kinda curious as to why they are working with 3 different producers again. Keeping it interesting? Financial? It's a pretty unusual way to record imo.... I think it worked pretty well on SWBT. What do folks think? I'm gonna be contentious here but personally my favourite Mudhoney LP (aside from Superfuzz Bigmuff) is Tomorrow Hit Today. One of the reasons I love it is the production. I think the songs are fully realised and all that Warners cash got spent to full effect. Jim Dickinson really got the best out of the band. Not a diss at Jack Endino, I think his work with Mudhoney is GREAT! Sorry to go on.... at work, bored......

What do folks think? Sorry to go on.... at work, bored...... Maybe they're doing it to get a different sound for different tracks, as you said like they did with SWBT. Doubt it's anything financially.

Still a lovely name:) hahaha so i fucked up that name anyway, its funny cos Mark told me to be sure to spell Tucker Martine correctly (first time he send me that name he forgot the "e" at the end of his name). and i remembered that "E" part but fucked up with letter "C" ...haha, shit happens, well now it's correct, thanks Smallstone, and you helped me to find that "TUCKER" link , and it's NOT sad replying to own posts. i do it all the time and you post always great stuff and great informations, thanks and respect mate !!!!!

my favourite Mudhoney LP (aside from Superfuzz Bigmuff) is Tomorrow Hit Today. One of the reasons I love it is the production. I agree. Seems that Phil Ek has worked with many Murder City Devils releated bands: Modest Mouse, Dead Low Tide, Big Business, Pretty Girls Make Graves, The John And Spencer Booze Explosion +Murder City Devils (I love them ). Tucker Martine with: Chris Eckman (Walkabouts),Valis, Giant Robot (They suck but they are finnish ;D) he also produced Steve's latest solo album. This sounds pretty good.
