I may jump in there and credit deep wound to as they were great! Wasnt really into all that thrash thing myself only if you can call Anal Cunt thrash lol? but i have a somewhat vague memory of Sore Throat. Seth wanted to create the most non-musical band ever, he did a pretty good job. Check out his website, that guy's insane. He has all kinds of stories how people from Hatebreed and Cannibal Corpse wanted to beat him up but they were all pussies and so on, it's great. One of the most brutal song titles ever is Connor Clapton commited suicide because his father sucks, about Eric Clapton.

Yup Peel wrote the intro to Choosing Death - he was so important in making the scene over in the UK. He used to play Napalm Death all the time, get them in to do sessions etc. I don't think he was playing it as a novelty thing at all, he dug the DIY Underground ethic. I love mid-period Napalm Death. The Lee Dorian/Bill Steer/Shane Embury/Mick Harris line up. Awesome stuff!! Not into the scene when it kinda went 'overground' into Kerrang and all 'black' metal. Yeuch!!
It's a good book - worth getting out from a library or something. Not sure if it's worth shelling out cash for really... unless you're really into the whole death/grind/thrash scene. Some of the bands I really can't stand - same with that book Lords Of Chaos about Scandinavian Chuch burning satanists... it's all a bit sad. I don't get that scene at all! It's all a bit teenage - trying to shock yer Mum for me:)

This is really good for my karma.
Somehow I hoped thorn would ask me what ironic is, like in the Seinfeld episode.
Woman: I started riding these trains in the '40s. Those days a man would give up their seat for a woman. Now we're liberated and we have to stand. Elaine: It's ironic. Woman: What's ironic? Elaine: This, that we've come all this way, we've made all this progress, but, you know, we've lost the little things, the niceties. Woman: No, I mean what does 'ironic' mean?
