Hey Thorn, hi hows it going? I'm NOT questioning you here, but where did you get this info from - that it's Grohl on the Incesticide version of Dive. I've always believed it was Channing on the 7" single version which was duplicated on that comp. So the version on Incesticide is Grohl yeah? When and where was this recorded? I'm really curious! Not my favourite Nirvana song by a long stretch, but kinda groovy in a kiss off - good bye to the Bleach era sludge....

Yeah I never thought for a minute it was Dave Grohl (until thorn told me). I know on the demo of Dive on the boxset the drums are different, but I thought Channing had just changed the drums, instead of changing the drummer......

If you do a bit of research (come as you are). You'll find that the song was recorded by Butch Vig, but not the nevermind sessions the sub-pop one. They did the recording in April 1990 a fair few months before Dave Grohl came into the scene. Meaning that Chad Channing did do the song. He was only in the band a couple more months then they got shunt of him.
To sum up- Chad Channing DID do the drums on Dive.
Hope that makes it easier to understand.

i think they did the song in both vig sessions with 2 different drummers, which is why i was confussed the best way of telling is looking at the viynl i suppose and see who is on it as playing the drums
