I've been looking for some televised interviews by Mudhoney and their members. Its hard tho! I found some general stuff om youtube, but thats usually a short note in a 'grunge' rockumentary...useless really. Anybody have more success? maybe tips or links?
I read on Steve's myspace that he lists the Violent Femmes as an influence, is that true? Is Steve behind the site or someone else?

Aside from appearances in various docs (Hype etc) there isn't a huge amount of televised live appearances of the band. In the UK for example they never appeared on Snub TV or Transmission which were the late 80s early 90s national 'indie' shows. There was no video for say....Touch Me I'm Sick for example (can you imagine a band having a 'hit' song like that today and not making a video...?) and the videos that Sub Pop made for This Gift or Here Come Sickness never got shown on UK tv. Great press for Mudhoney back then - but they arsed around with getting them on TV and the radio. But no bother. They've never appeared as far as I know on ANY UK TV. Back in the day that would have meant the Word, Later (which is still running), Jonathan Ross (likewise), the White Room and countless other now forgotten music shows. I mean YouTube someone like Rocket From The Crypt from the mid 90s they were getting on telly - over here anyways. My point - they're not well represented on TV and if they were ever on telly it'll be on YouTube by now. Steve is behind the Myspace site yeah - Violent Femmes are cool - nowt wrong with a bit of Blister in The Sun!

on the other hand if you want magazine interviews they're all achieved at www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~ptn/mudhoney/articles/index.html I had a lazy office job a couple of years ago and spent my days reading through every one...! Has anyone uploaded the Black Sheep appearance on Youtube? They have lines in it don't they?

I've got a VHS copy of Black Sheep at home - what a terrible terrible film. Sure it's on You Tube somewhere - they do have lines. There scene and the live stuff is the only thing of merit - maybe Chris Farleys brand of slapstick didn't travel well.... You could argue that Nirvana's ascent was helped a lot by the TV exposure they got in the UK anyway. National TV - not crummy cable or Satellite that only a small % of the population had. Their Word appearance was legendary! Transmitted on a Friday night - live - as the pubs kicked out.The Word was AWFUL TV - but everyone watched it. Likewise the Jonathan Ross show when they did Territorial Pissings instead of Come As You Are. This was proper 'water cooler' moment stuff. Mudhoney never had that. Even when they had the clout of Reprise/Atlantic promo teams behind them. I've often wondered why....
