Cut and pasted fom the ATP website "The Scientists went through may incarnations in their 9 year history but are remembered mostly for the lineup that existed from 1981 to 1985. Kim Salmon, Tony Thewlis, Boris Sujdovic and Brett Rixon together had the peculiar chemistry that produced the classics – ‘Swampland’, ‘Happy Hour’, the ‘Blood Red River’ mini LP and ‘We had love’.You could put on a Scientists record from this period and not know it was 23 years old! The Scientists might’ve been overlooked in their own time but there has been no shortage of younger bands who have cited them over the years – Mudhoney, Nirvana et al, John Spencer, the Von Bondies, The White Stripes, The Drones and scores of others just keep coming along dropping their name. Sadly Brett Rixon passed away in 1993. Kim, Boris and Tony have recruited his understudy from 1985, Leanne Cowie to help them in 2006, reanimate the monster! Saw them support at Shep Bush and play at ATP. They were good both times. If you like the early to mid 80s period Scientists you'll dig these shows - and their influence on Mudhoney is pretty clear. Not sure what their plans are going forward though. All the best to ya Jay

I video taped the Scientists aswell, only support act I bothered taping. Started halfway through the first song though. Had never heard of them and didn't know they were any good, but as soon as I realized they were, I reached for my cam. Haven't seen the show since, but I could run through it If anyone is interested. Or else I'll just put it on the shelf for now.... (Mudhoney first, WHEN I have the time..... Sorry for the delay! Good things come to those who wait ) (Oh, I found a guy who audio recorded the Nottingham show. If I can get a copy Nottingham will deff ROCK hard) Stian
