No real need for this post - or any of my musings really - but just Googled Matt Lukin - and there's a surprising lack of info on him. I have fond memories of Lukin live. Great bass player and all round gonzoid chap! Kinda cool that there's no MySpace, no website etc etc. It's like he's just said - hey ho thats it I'm outta here! Seems like after playing music for 20 years he just had enough. Not just of playing or touring but the whole shebang! Seems like after those last West Coast dates with the band 2000/2001 he's just - not so much disappeared - just gone.... Still the curious fan side of me wonders a) hows he doing b) what he thinks of it all - all of this I mean. Fave memories I have are of 1st time I saw Mudhoney and Matt slamming his bass into the floor really close to where I was - front of stage. He was so into it.... No diss to Guy - he's totally the man - his bass playing blows my mind! He was on fire on the recent Euro tour. Him losing his temper on stage at Shep Bush over his blown amp was brilliant! But yeah - any thoughts/news/musings on Matt Lukin?

you gotta love Matt ! great bass player, funny guy. I have it on my heart. I remember when the guys were in Argentina (good ol' times ) I asked them about him. What surprised me is that he is friends with Guy, he said he is totally cool. He loves Football (soccer for you yanks) and he supports AJAX ! how weird is that ! well, he is married to a dutch girl. Danny (tour manager, roadie, friend) told me that Matt works for him (he must have a carpenter company or something) and he still lives in Seattle. I remember I said "is he back in Aberdeen ? " and he said something "He wouldn't go there to live" Matt, what a funny guy he must be to be around. we should do a webpage or a myspace in tribute to him. I wonder what may be the real issue for him dropping music (maybe cobain's death ? )
