So it struck me last night that I don't have a copy of You're Gone on CD. It's not on March To Fuzz and of course its not on any studio albums - falling between the release of Mudhoney and EGBDF. It's well represented on vinyl of course. 12" though Glitterhouse, 7" on Sub Pop (of various colours - I have black vinyl and a splattered pink) + the purple vinyl different coloured version on Au Go Go with different sleeve. But no CD.... It's an odd song really but I kinda like it. I think 1990 was a weird/productive year for Mudhoney - just looking at the tour page on Petes Muddclub page - they played a ton of shows, visited Australia twice on tour (no one visit is Australia twice on tour do they?!) - this track was recorded there too. If my memory serves me well the whole we're gonna split up / we have no more plans stories started to surface around this time and of course they cut there hair off!! My god that was shocking! Ha ha ha. But anyways, band don' seem to have played this for er... 15 years? Has anyone heard them play since 1991/2? Any thoughts on this song?

This was my fave new single at the time it was released. Loads of Stooges references. I remember they played that song at the time, but indeed they never played it since then.It is on the Absolutely Live VHS.

Yeah man - the version on Absolutely Live is great - but then that video is so cool. I wonder if band have just fallen out of love with the song....

It's just one of those songs you know and it's unavailable anywhere. It's only since three years they play some old stuff. I got a great bootleg video from Rimini Italy where they play it too.

Yes but that was due to the ATP Don't Look Back show plat SFBM in it's entirety. Top shows!! I'm not surprised they don't play it live now, they have a huge back catalogue of songs to play live - and once they've played TMIS/SWTASNM + cuts from their latest album and a few other choice classics doesn't leave much left really. Would love to see that Rimini DVD! Wanna trade? 1991 yeah?
