ok, so since this is a mudhoney board i reckon were all fuzz addicts. lets discuss about yr favourite fuzz and what you would recomend. i think for me its either a big muff or a fender blender. i gotta buy those man! and the zvex fuzz factory is just amazing

Steve likes sometimes to go direct into the board when recording 'fuzz' leads. That cuts out the whole into amp signal thang and kinda makes for unique sounds I guess. Coupled with whatever guitar he may be using. So trying to get that particular sounds may be tough - and he (they) use so many different pedals. I think it's a combination of guitars/pedals and amps - or lack of them to get those sounds. Look at Steves set up now - live at least - Trex Mudhoney, DOD Overdrive/Preamp and old Big Muff + what looks like a fuzz wah!S'gonna be hard to re-create - but good luck! I'm listening to Pissed Jeans track on the new Sub Pop comp Terminal Sales Vol2 - it's pretty good! Oh and my current favourite fuzz is er.... my 5 year old EH Big Muff. My SuperFuzz has started emitting weird noises - I fear its busting  |

Yo im Po and im new to these boards, and omg thank you somewhere with live recordings..... gona head over to that sections soon...ive got Mudhoney and EGBDF btw. Lol anyway i have a guitar its a sh*te (dont know if u guys allow swearing) its a Fender Squier Showmaster from Argos (heres a online site that sells it so that you can see it www.musicshopdirect.co.uk/order_g-eg9.htm) it used to be my brothers but he gave it up and i started playing it during my block release (for anyone not from UK thats like a period of time you get off school here in order to revise for exams) and i started playing it when i should have been revising and now its mine. Ive been looking at Fuzz pedals, and if i get one, hopefully ill get some guitar related stuff for X-Mas, hopefully a pedal or something from my parents, been looking at pedals and talking to my brother sorta about them lol, maybe theyll pick up on that or something lol. If i get one i want to bootleg the equipment from either of my current favourite bands, im not in a band so all i currently do is play along to songs in my room, and try and create riffs, with my brother who plays bass now, on weekends when my mums away. So anyway ill bootleg Nirvana or Mudhoneys equipment, so id either want a Big Muff pi, a DS-1, or a erm sorry cant remember the name of it but the distortion pedal that Kurt Cobain used around In Utero. Sorry for any spelling mistakes or typo's, and any grammar errors, took me 3 attempts to pass GCSE English, and sorry for the long post just for stuff about pedals, i thought that seeing as this is my first post here thought id introuduce myself and whatnot |

hey welcome to the site. i think cobain used either proco rats or tech sansamp on inutero.
i suggest buying a big muff isntead of a ds1.

Ah thats the one, it was a SansAmp Classic, Pat Smear used the Proco Rats. K and with a Big Muff i could still play a few Nirvana things aswel, aparently Breed and Lithium used a Big Muff. www.nirvanaclub.com/index.php?section=info/tablature is how i know this, incase u dont know of this place, good Nirvana tabs apart from a few i think are wrong from looking at live videos of Nirvana, and you can see theres a link to a Nirvana Equipment Guide amoungst all that text. |

lol but of course here the answer to which out of DS-1, Big Muff pi and SansAmp Classic are koolest/best because this is afterall a mudhoney fansite lol. Its bias lol
