Managed to find the money for a sunday ticket at reading this year didnt see to many bands but Pearl Jam were damn hot and kinda blew 80,000+ people away,3 days of getting wasted an all that was a fun weekend.

Do you know when he saw them? Really they have gotton so much better over the years and if anyone didnt see them at reading i really urge you to watch the reading coverage on tv (it shall be on again soon,or download it) Seriously i met people who said they wasnt even fans but now they'd like to consider themselves fans and as i said if there were an act at reading this year who could have finsihed the festival as the last act and made everyone go back to their tents happy pearl jam did it easy,Eddie was nearly crying at the end of the show the emotions must have caught up with him what with them not playing reading for the best part of 14 years and not playing the uk for 6 bearing in mind they were probably the biggest band in the world the last time they played reading and i think eddie was just so caught in the moment by the croud,Just goes to show we all still love em as we did back in their peak? hayday or whatever you want to call it way back when.

Pearl Jam.... I dunno. I can remember hearing - or actually seeing the Alive video on late night TV just before it came out... and thinking.... ooh thats a good song. I have the white vinyl 7" somewhere. But other than that I don't own anything by them, have never seen them live and have to admit what I have heard (which is mainly) Ten ain't all that .... hang on I HAVE seen them live (senility is really kicking in!!) - 1993 Finsbury Park supporting Neil Young. They were ok.... not as good as Teenage Fanclub who also supported but better than 4 Non Blonde's!! Neil Young though.....wow. Anyway my point - I do have one - is I guess I've sort of warmed to them over the years - not so much their music - but their ethics - in a way. I guess 'back in the day' I sorta took sides with Nirvana and sat in the Pearl Jam are corporate whores camp.... how silly that whole spat know seems. Ah ya live and learn... New album seems to have a few people excited. Watched a few minutes of Hype the other day and it really comes across from that how DAMAGED Vedder was by the whole thing... the whole grunge nonsense and Kurt stuff. Anyways....

Yeah smallstone the new album is pretty damn good in many diffrent ways i also agree with you on the hype thing eddie is kinda pissed about how his band and various others took the starlight out of everyone elese fame and shit and so on,They really did blow lots of people away this past weekend,if anyone wants to see it all the songs are up on Youtube.
