Sorry to kinda blow off the subject a bit folks but i was watching some Best Of horror thing on s4c (welsh channel 4) and couldnt help seeing a old movie called Cannibal Hallocaust i've not seen it myself but it sure looked fucking horrid im a big horror fan myself so i've seen some harsh films but this actually looked real sick,people eating eachother and it was film in the blair-witch way so it makes it look real-to-life-documentrary-style and to say the least i was pissing my pants just watching a few clips of it,it was also banned in 50 countrys and taken to court over the fact that ALOT of people believed that there was real cannibalism and torture happening in the film so the producer (forgot his name) had to take most of the cast to court to prove that no-one was killed during the film,pretty messed up and looked really scary in a fucked up way.Anyone seen it? or got anything to add about it? im debating on weather to watch it or not but im one with a weak stomach so i will more than likely look a little pail and be in the bathroom spewing.  |

Yeah I saw that programme too on Ch4 last night and I switched over!! I must admit to have been around some mates house about 10+ years ago and they had a copy and watched it - I declined and went into another room!! I watched a bit and it's just horrible!! It's not a nice film! It does look real and was banned for years around the time of the whole video nasty hysteria in the early 80s. The premise is a bit like Blair Witch - folks find a tape etc. My advice is give it a miss:)
But then I feel the same about Texas Chainsaw Massacre! I've sat through that once...never again. It's just not much fun! I like my horror with a little humour or social commentary (Romero, Carpenter, Cronnenburg, Raimi etc)... not a fan of just mindless brutality!
Anyone for a top 10 horror thread?

Actually, I've never seen Cannibal Holocaust but I would really like too! I've heard a lot about it. Anyone for a top 10 horror thread? Great idea! By the way, Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of my all time favorites! |

Smallstone i agree totally with you man i dont really have the stomach for films like Cannibal Holocaust just those few clips made me cringe its to much for me i think i would be in the toilet spewing,Its mabye even beyond reason of a horror film and as you said near enough pure brutality my friend just sent me some pictures of it and it does make you wonder if it was real as such cause alot of people seemd to think so,still not my kinda film.I agree with the 10 best horror flicks to...make a thread if you like i've been meaning to list some of my fav's.
