I'm not sure if there's an introduction thread on here or not. I've been a longtime Mudhoney fan. I saw them with Superchunk and Gas Huffer at Brown University in 1991 when I was in high school (EGBDF tour)! I remember my ears rang until the afternoon the next day. They played Black Flag's "Nervous Breakdown" and I was hooked, man. I still have the ratty t-shirt I bought.
Anyway, the forum members here seem really cool and there's not too much flaming so I'll post more soon. Feel free to move this post if it's in the wrong place!

Hi, I'm Maarten. I'm not sure if there's a special section for introductions by new members, let the mods sort that out. It's nice to see some more old school Mudhoney fans here, most of us are relatively new to Mudhoney compared to you. Therefore it also feels kind of weird to welcome you, but I'll welcome you anyway.
So, what other bands are you into?

Right now, I've been listening to: Gang of Four, Mission of Burma, Love Battery, Dead Meadow, Jesus Lizard, Lungfish...the list is endless really.

Welcome Benvanzetti! Nice to have you on board  Thats a cool story. I saw Mudhoney on the EGBDF tour here in the UK with Hole (who were awful!!), it was a great show!! Brighton, Zap club. Actually saw Superchunk at that club too - the night I met my wife!! Happy memories of college days! Thats a fine list of bands too. I've been listening to Entertainment by Gang Of Four a lot recently. Also been playing an inadvertent game of spot the member of GOF!! Spotted Andy Gill (guitar) at an organic market in the City (Moorgate) a couple of months back and bumped into the singer Jon King at a bus stop in Notting Hill just last week!!! They're looking good for dudes turning 50!!! Just Hugo the drummer and the bass player to go! Anyways welcome! ;D |
