Hmm well I wouldn't exactly say that, although I never grew up as a teen in the early 90's, I somehow don't think they got as much press coverage or they were as incredibly annoying as PATD and MCR and chums. Unless 'emos of the 90s' refers to Fugazi, Sunny Day Real Estate etc. to which I'd say they're different but IMO subgenres with a talented number of bands, some abysmal, some awesome.
Personally I love 7 Year Bitch, L7, Hole and Babes In Toyland (although to a smaller extent).

i didnt mean like, emos emos. i meant, theyre kind of similar, then youd have normal girls and riot grrls now you have normal girls and emo/scene girls.

Only you never had riot boys  Also one genre was vastly superior in musical quality to another, so riot grrls are a lot more tolerable lol. |

Hole isn't a riot band .
Personally i like L7 , Babes in toyland and others bands .
