Folks,
Got my hands on a copy (at last! - thanks Ebay!) of the old K7 Studios VHS 'BEST OF BERLIN VOL 2 VIDEO' featuring Mudhoney (plus an awful performance from the Buzzcocks FOC and a rather great 3 songs from the Young Gods).
Now (thanks to Pete Trahms tourbook) this is the first outside of the US Mudhoney show and indeed apart from 1 show in Portland the first show outside of Seattle!! Again thanks to Pete's tourbook this was part of the Berlin Independence Days Music Festival. Mudhoneys performance was a full 10 tracks. The video is AMAZING!! Shot really well. This has to be the earliest commercially available footage of the band. It's all there! At least a 4 camera job. It's very slick. Almost looks like they are playing in a TV studio, but there is an audience. Perhaps unsurprisingly due to the fast that Superfuzz Bigmuff had probably only just been released they are a little subdued!
Anyways this got me to think about what was 'commercially' available on VHS/DVD of Mudhoney live (plenty of videos on various comps as well as the #1 Video in America This Week VHS - though I should mention Here Come Sickness vid for live stuff!). And also what was out there boot wise! Not thinking about 1991 Year Punk Broke as they didn't play live on it.
So there's this the K7 Berlin VHS
The Absolutely Live K7 VHS - which I still think is great!! Some amazing footage!
Hype VHS (Touch Me I'm Sick live excerpt - with Hate The Police coming on the soon to be released DVD too)
Black Sheep - Chris Farley film - performance of ..? (Beneath The Valley Of The Underdog? - I can't remember?) and appearance/part in film. Terrible film mind!
TV Eye 2 VHS (any extras on the DVD?) x 2 live tracks filmed + funny brief interview with Steve, Mark and Matt - last footage of Matt Lukin playing with band! Must be more footage of this?
What else 'official' is out there? What's on the MetalHead Vol 1 Video Magazine? Has anyone got any good boots - they may want to copy me/trade!
Kinda thinking that what with the 2 x K7 live performance vids + the TV Eye stuff (there must be other footage in the can too!), and all the promo videos there must be scope for a nice DVD collection. Get it all together in one nice box! Led Zep style!
Of stuff Online there was that great Rolling Stone.com studio performance of 'Inside Job' a few years ago too.
Anyway was just thinking...........
