Europe Record label "Rock & Roll Inc. Records" has been re-released a Sonic tribute band The New Original Sonic Sound`s long play. I´ve<br>got undertand that band titled it´s original name in this time : The New Strychnines and album features a diff cover and it titled The New Original Sonic Sound (R&R INC 019)
The New Strychnines are
Mark Arm - vocals Tom Price - guitar Big Kahuna - guitar Steve Turner - bass Scott McOi - keyboards Craig Florey - sax Dan Peters - drums
The Sonics were the best band in the Northwest in the '60s (and maybe even in the world). Five great musicians - three great chords!
The New Original Sonic Sound is a tribute album by a band who might be called The New Strychnine's, or maybe they're just Mudhoney and Scott McCaughey, or maybe just a Northwest aggregation of true rock 'n' roller's worshipping at the shrine of Gerry Roslie and the Parypa Brothers. Mark Arm, Steve Turner and Dan Peters are from Mudhoney; Bill "Kahuna" Henderson is from Girl Trouble; Tom Price is from Gas Huffer; and Scott McCaughey founded the Young Fresh Fellows and the Minus 5, as well as being a (current, but non-original) member of R.E.M. Produced by Kurt Bloch (Fastbacks), The New Original Sonic Sound has 16 tracks from the Sonics songbook - "The Witch," "He's Waiting," "Strychnine," "Cinderella" and a whole lot more including THE Northwest national anthem, "Louie, Louie."
so go to yr fav rec store and buy it right now !!!
