no my friend slint is not new,they were a band from the 90s,but they have reformed now

cool when did they reform, id like to go and see them, steve albini said one of thier albums he produced is the best album ever. obviously its not but hey id still like to see them!!

From what i heard they reformed a few weeks ago,you can catch them playing at the ALL TOMORROWS PARTIES festival in sussex england,along with a 3 day lineup which in undecided as of yet

slint r very good, i've my ticket all sorted for atp, with only them confirmed to curate it, yet i haven't yet decided on the december atp, despite a lot of the lineup already confirmed, so that is how good they are.... go buy their records 'tweez' and 'spiderland' now if you haven't already, because you really should have done years ago... i think they got re-issued on vinyl a couple of years back, so no excuses...

i finally located thier spderland album its very moody and hard to listen to theres nothing for your ear to hold onto!!! bit of a dissappiontment!!!

Yeah its not a nirvana album or anything but sure is kick ass album and band IMO.

amazing how people hear music differently. To me it's up there with the greatest albums of all time. It's a moody record agreed. Nothing hard to listen to about it though I think. It's quite beautiful in parts (Washer for example), and then un-relenting in others (Good Mornign Captain). Slint are just as 'important' (whatever that means in regards to music) as say Nirvana. Just in a different way. Give it another go Thorn:)
