was no thred on here which said anything about girl bands,so i thought i would post one and pay my respects to them,as they have rocked harder and even better than the guys do and so i just thought i would say RESPECT TO ALL THE WOMEN!

they were good, but thier music revolved around being the oppressed female, male bands dont do that, and they definately rock harder. for example female drummers no where near as strong as male drummers. i know now all females on this board are giong to attack me, but understand this music is SEXLESS whether you like it or not, and just beaucse these bands add grrl in front of thier name, doesnt mean they are better than male bands. at the same time some of the music is worth getting into.

hahaha sorry to laugh thorn but i thought what you said there is so much bollocks its funny  .Female dummers not being as good as male drummers? lol bit sexist there eh and thorn it dont boil down to the 'Oh he hits the drums hard he's a better drummer than her'' thats kiddie talk,Its based on the fact that back in the 80s + 90s women didnt have much rights everything was controled by men we seemed to rule the world just pushing women aside and forgetting that they are or should be just as equal as us not just ignoreing them and finding one to breed with.But then women came back and people started noticing them more,and as you all know we've had our fair share of women bands not just Riot Grrl bands but i respect them all even kim gordon only female member of sonic youth,Courtney Love (no matter how much you hate her or anyone cause they think she killed kurt or whatever lame excuse) but they all stood up there in the face of men and proved to us all that its not one sided race women are and will be as equal as men,Not the fact that they cant hit drums as hard as men thats just fucking lame man i will discuss this with you thorn but if you'r going down that road of men rock harder and girls cant hit drums as hard argue with someone else about it cause that is childs play man. |

Oh and p.s....i didnt mean girl bands are better than male bands,what i meant was that girl bands have been just AS good i mean just cause they are women dont mean they aint as good,dont care who is better than who cause thats just a load of crap all i was trying to say was that whatever bands males have been in and how good they were female bands were up there with them to doing just as good as them no one is better they are all on the same level and just a matter of opinion at the end of the day i guess.

You saw L7 live??? whoa!!! man im soooo jelous of you.
I would have LOVED to see L7 live,i dunno if they have split up yet either,i heard they have,but heard on a website they have just gone to ground for now so not really sure whats happening,anyone know more about this? i hope they are still together and will do one last tour or something so i can get to see them.

I'm no HUGE fan of L7 records but they were pretty damn good live. I saw them at the Reading Festival in the early 90s (93? 94? - they all kinda blur into one!) and they slayed. This was of course the show where Donita (or was it Jennifer) whipped out the tampon she was wearing and threw it into the crowd!!! This was of course pretty soon after she had dropped her trousers live on Channel 4s LIVE late night post -pub 'YOOF' show the Word whilst playing 'Pretend You're Dead'......Ah those happy/heady days of the GRUNGE wars:)
Any silly notions of women not being able to rock as hard as men or what not can be instantly dispelled by ONE viewing of the 1991: The Year Punk Broke film (' I hear a DVD is being worked on) and Babes In Toylands incendiary performance. I was there. It was INTENSE!!!!!
