oh my god thank you martin someone agrees with me pink floyd are way too bad to have anything to do with mudhoney, and after all not many of mudhoneys songs are psychadelic, thats not really what theyre about. way too overrated and OLD!!!!

Folks - seems to me that you've possibly misunderstood why RaunchHands posted that message about Pink Floyd and the Mark Arm quote:- 'Pink Floyd...? It depends what era you're talking about. I've been doing this a lot lately, figuring out the exact moment when a band turns bad, probably because we've been around so long. Live at Pompeii is so great, but if you listen to Atom Heart Mother, that's pretty fucking bad, so... once they stopped being psychedelic warriors, I guess.' I think what he is trying to say is yeah there IS a Pink Floyd influence in Mudhoney but it depends what era you're talking about. Pink Floyd are tough to figure out because they change a lot record to record. Later Floyd records like Animals/Wish You Were Here/Division Bell etc bear little or no resemblance to the mad pysch freakness of Piper At The Gates Of Dawn or Saucerfull of Secrets. And as my man Mark Arm says and I agree, you've got to see Live at Pompeii its so good!! I watched it again at the weekend! He is stating that there IS a PF influence to their music. And as for their not being that many psychedelic songs in Mudhoneys cannon of tracks? Er excuse me, we are talking about the same band here aren't we? This is the Mudhoney board isn't it? The 4 piece from Seattle? Wrote that song Touch Me I'm Sick. I haven't accidentally been posting on some other band called Mudhoneys board unwittingly have I? Come on now!! Thorn do you want me to explain to you what psychedelic music actually sounds like?  Why is them being 'old' a problem anyway? Old as they made music in the 60s? Or what? Mudhoney are totally psych!!! Not exclusively, they have a host of musical influences but to deny a psych one is crazy. Listen to tracks like Dead Love, When Tomorrow Hits, Beneath The Valley Of The Underdog, their cover of Sonic Youths Halloween, In and Out Of Graces' freak out bits and especially Make It Now Again! What about Sonic Infusion!! These tracks are damn psychedlelic! Mudhoney are punky, bluesy, soulful, garagey psych genisuses!! Thats why we like them no? Next you'll be saying there's no Hawkwind or the Seeds in Mudhoney! Or the Stooges!! |

Oh My..and you say you'r favourite band is nirvana,well i'll say that again,according to you nirvana is the best band to grace the earth...Again thorn no offence but they've been dead for 11 years and overrated hmmm lets say they were a little to overrated. so dont bother calling pink floyd overrated or old,ok they were 70s but nirvana is you'r favourite band hmmm wake up and smell the coffee thorn man. |

i HATE pink floyd people get over your fucking selves not everybody likes the same music which is why we were all created differently!!! fucking hell im sick to death of you people i show the most dedication on this board and i get kicked in the teeth when i dont agree with the common opionon. this is the senario: someone starts a post about something, i post (whether or not i agree isnt relevant anymore) and instantly someone makes a mockery of me to make them feel better about themselves, only i doesnt bother me but im going to explain why this happens. i unlike the rest of the board i have an open mind. i have been playing and listening to music for most of my life it is my passion, which i why i get so obssesed about it. i have grown a taste for excellent music and in my opionon nirvana, mudhoney, and all that is what music is about, not fucking pink floyd. just because everyone thinks they had an influenece on every fucking band that came after them the same as the overrated beatles. i have spent extensive hours researching everything i say because of my thirst for musical knowledge so from now on all of you UNINTELLIGENT beings can go to fuckin hell and suck syd barrets DICK!!!!!!! im no longer going to hold back if you people are as intelligent as you say you would realise pink floyd has nothing to do with mudhoney, they werent the onil psychadelic band. and by the way cont bother posting back because in my opinon you guys get stupider by the day especailly you thurston whore!!!

You say you'r openminded and shit then why do you call all bands you dont like shit for? i mean all music is good even if you dont listen to it people buy it people go and watch it so it must be good.And its getting boring hearing about this non-existant musicical knowledge you have,i mean why dont you go become a char topping music producer or something cause to be quiet honest thorn you say u spend all you'r time learing about music and all but i aint seen you talk any sence since being a member on this board music-wise anyway and at the end of the day i have a FREE music Knowledge i dont have to go learn about that shit cause thats just lame haha.  |
