I found this band's 7 inch vinyl single in a record store, and bought it (well it was only 99p) and slammed that mother down on the turntable and: OH MY GOD!!!! Imagine the Distillers, if they played upbeat songs, There on a label called Infinity Cat, and they are totally "wack" LOL! www.infinitycat.com/byop.html

Be Your Own Pet are from Nashville, TN, USA. I think there is a Kings Of Leon connection somewhere.... Anyway there currently is a bit of a 'bidding' war in the UK between labels eager to get these youngsters to sign up (the singer is 15......). This single (i'm presuming this is what you have brought) 'Damn Damn Leash' is on XL records in the UK, home to White Stripes etc etc. There will soon be another single coming out on other mighty UK indie Rough Trade.... I think then the two labels will have a boxing match to decide who signs them up..... Yeah it's ok. Kinda jumpy:)

sounds good but... how many other bands out there play this kind of stuff, probably better? 10,000? maybe more. i guess the media blitz is on them because the singer is incredibly beautiful and they're young and they look like those models - dressed - as - skaters featured on all those gap and levis ad's.
dirtnap records can provide you with more jumpy garage punk than you'll ever need. go pillage their mp3 page.

What the hell, for 99p, a 7 inch punk rock single sounds pretty good to me.
By the way my version is:
Damn Damn Leash b/w Spill.
