"An anomaly among the college/indie rock-centered Athens, GA, scene from which they emerged, cult favorites Harvey Milk were responsible for some of the slowest, heaviest, and most uncompromising rock music created in the latter half of the '90s." According to AMG that is. I found out about them through someone on the Melvins board and they absolutely rock! This band is hard to classify, they are truly quite unique: the only band that came up to me are - indeed - the Melvins. And there you have another band that's hard to classify. Check out some more reviews on AMG: www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:rikqiklabb79www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:ku5ibk09aakn( clicking doesn't work, the address is being hampered by the script, so just copy-paste to check out the reviews) As you have perhaps read in the reviews above, Harvey Milk can be extremely heavy and slow without sounding metal. The band has reformed recently and they will support Khanate in the US this year. Interesting detail: I've heard the singer uses some cough syrup to get the sound of his voice right. Has anyone got more info on this band? If not, go check them out and let me know what you think.
