More pumpkins news..
Some of you have been waiting for this for years - and now it's confirmed. Bald coot Billy Corgan has reformed the Smashing Pumpkins.
But there's a catch, and verily, this is a catch to provoke a Cod War and get the Icelandic up in umbridge, it's only going to be Corgan in the reformed line-up. And the drummer. But not the original one. Because he's dead.
But the Smashing Pumpkin's website today claims that "it's official, The Smashing Pumpkins are currently writing songs for their upcoming album, their first since 2000. No release date has yet been set, but the band plans to begin recording this summer."
Melissa Auf Der Maur said to MTV that it didn't matter if there was only Billy in the band "Everyone knows Billy doesn't need too many people to make a PUMPKINS record, other than Jimmy — who he has on board." She added that she'd told Corgan she'd be available if he didn't fancy hooking up with other original members James Iha or Mr Darcy
