For all you Ian MacKaye fans out there, I'm currently listening to the self-titled album of his new project The Evens and I must say it doesn't sound too bad. The band was formed a couple of years ago and consists of Ian MacKaye (Minor Threat, Fugzai and others) on guitar and vocals and Amy Farina on drums and vocals. The sound of the band is more laid-back than Fugazi sounds, almost folky. The combination of a male and female singer sometimes reminds me of The Lemonheads' Ray. Recommended for people from this board. www.dischord.com/bands/evens.shtml

It's alright. It probably has to grown further on me - if it's that good of course - but it certianly had some fine moments.
I agree it's hard to keep the music you're listening to various. Right now I'm listening to a Finnish band called Thergothon. I read about them in an article on Wikipedia where they were mentioned as one of the first bands, together with Earth, that played extremely slow.
Also, make sure you check out The Heads, a great English band. I read about them on stonerrock and while it's not exactly typical stoner it sure has some neo-psychedelic elements but above all, they just rock.. really hard.
