Has anybody out there got any Scientists albums/CDs? I've kind of just become a bit obsessed by them! I think it was seeing the Bird Blobs support Mudhoney in London and folks jammering on about their Scientists vide n'all.
I picked up this Australian Indie CD - tracks from 1976-1989 - comp a week or two ago 'cos it's got this track 'We Had Love' on it and its INCREDIBLE!!! I then checked out my other compilation CDs and looked again at the Set It On Fire tribute to Scientists CD and Mudhoney cover 'We Had Love' and it's still great!! What a song!! I need to hear more!! Kim Salmon is the main dude and if ya Google him there's one cool interview from 1994 where he talks about playing with Mudhoney in Australia and doing the aforementioned track atthe Big Day Out shows. There's a BIG Scientists vibe in Mudhoney! I think it's kinda been stated that Mark is into Aussie psych/punk - Birthday Party etc - but jesus this stuff is so good! I've been outbid on Ebay trying to get some CDS... it's hard to track this stuff down!
But just wanted to share this with you all - check them out! I think you're supposed to just call then Scientists (as opposed to THE Scientists - like you're supposed to call The Pixie just Pixies... so I heard
