...what sarcasm?? My initial question was "Does anyone know the origin of the title Boiled Beef and Rotten Teeth"! No-one offered up any insights then yesterday I was reading thru the What Music Have You Bought Recently thread when I noticed mudhoney1988 had bought a DKs album called "Fresh fruit for rotten vegetables". Therefore... I wondered if the title was harking back to that, yeh? peace

Ok, my theory (and thats all it is, a theory) for the title is thus: I reckon it relates to the fact that the compilation was put together for the European market and echoes, possibly, the bands reaction to how can I put this...... our European cuisine and it's effect on our dental hygiene:) Ok it's just a theory!! Band would have in the laet 80s been over to Europe for the first time and a lot of US folks reaction in the late 80s to Euro food was: "it's shit!!!". Also we Europeans (maybe it's just the Brits - I dunno!) have a reputation for having BAD teeth. Compared to Americans anyway! So there you go - what do y'all think to them apples?
Also the origin of this CD comp is Tupelo/Glitterhouse the bands UK/Euro licensee put this CD only (rumours of an LP version abound - but I've never seen one) release out to collect all the non LP tracks at the time. Remember this is at the time when the band were selling A LOT of records.... This is BEFORE Sub Pop re-issued SuperFuzz BigMuff with all the EXTRA tracks thus making this early Euro CD comp obselete. Indeed it has some nice photos on it, looks pretty cool and is indicative of early Sub Pop design. I reckon this MAY have been promoed on vinyl....has anyone got / seen one?

really?! well, i suppose some of the countries with the best food (spain, portugal, france, italy, greece) back then didn't attract as many rock bands as northen europe did... still a weird remark tho.
never seen BB&RT on vinyl either. but why doing it anyway? euro vinyl fans could easily have two tracks off it on the "you got it" german 12". sweet young thing was on the german editon of SFBM. that leaves just hate the police and touch me out of the list. clearly not enugh to spend money on yet another mud record (like if there weren't enough around already).
actually, i suppose glitterhouse could've made another 3 track 12" with the touch me 7" plus hate the police. now that would have been one nice record... oh well.
