Re: my food comment. Yup really. Having worked at a record label in the mid 90s with lots of US bands on it's roster the over riding reaction to UK and mainland Euro food (I'm talking Germany, Holland - probably not France...) was that it sucked big time. Especially UK and German food. Bands used to moan about it all the time. By the mid 90s it was seen to have got a bit better. Now if you talk to US bands they seem to think that food has got a whole lot better over in Europe. You're right though, I;m not talking Spain, Italy, Greece etc.
I'm not agreeing with these comments (hey UK food back then wasn't THAT bad...) but culturally there was (perhaps still is) a bit of a perceived view that our cuisine in comparison to that of the US sucked:)
Re: the vinyl - yup I agree no 'need' for it, the point of the CD was to gather together vinyl tracks. But rumours of a pointless or not vinyl version do exist.
