The answers probably no. But he's pretty damn near! I challenge y'all to go out and buy 3 CDs before the year is out. The latest Comets On Fire album 'Avatar', the last Six Organs Of Admittance long player 'The Sun Awakens' and ONE OTHER COF / SOOA album. The dude is happening. He'stoured with Current 93 for christ sakes. He's in Comets On Fire!!! Six Organs are like a dream come true. Fuzzed up psych madness. It SCARES me how good this dude is.

Ok - yeah it's a..... good to have you back. Been a while  Ok Ben Chasny is a bit of a dude. He plays guitar in Comets On Fire. He also records under the name Six Organs Of Admittance. He plays on Current 93 stuff too and guests (I guess) with other dudes as well. Comets you need to hear as they are an incredible band. Mudhoney put them on ATP. It's hard to describe them - sort of steamrolled power psychedelic rock. Full on. 2 guitars, bass, vocals and geezer on oscillating noise box. New album goes down a bit of a more early 70s rock Foghat kinda direction. My advice start with Field Recordings From The Sun album. They rule. Six Organs is More acoustic noodling dark folk pickings. But still pretty psyched up. Last album 'School Of The Flower' is beautiful, wispy, smoky psych - but with fuzzed up licks and free form drums. New album 'The Sun Awakens' is darker with more electric guitar and rolling percussion. I think Maloney from Sun Burned Hand Of The Man is playing drums with them now. |

Bang on smallstone  Comets On Fire are one hell of a band and im also digging the new record alot,Not heard to much Six Organs Of Admittance (but im seeing them in december at atp) so will have to get my hands on some more before i see em,Same with Current 93,But i agree he's and awesome dude you got that right. ;D |

Yeah I know him and I'm a fan. Not a big fan of the latest Comets album, but I'm sure it will grow on me. He doesn't play on the first Comets album, does he? I also bought the latest Six Organs, on which Al of Om, and former Sleep, also sings on the last song.

I think the new COF album takes a few listens. I didn't dig it that much at first but it grows on one  Production wise and some of the songs I guess seem to have some of the really rough edges smoothed off - but thats ok. It's prettyclassic rock in places! Not sure if Ben C is on 1st COF album either. I'm still kicking myself - my old band supported COF a year or so ago and I never got the chance to chat with the man... |
