Anyway you see im a rather big bush fan having seen them live twice and owning all their albums i dont see the reason why they got so much stick for i mean ok they sound a tad like nirvana blah blah who didnt? But they made good music (in my book) they rocked hard live and they were down to earth guys (having met them all at a show in bristol) Also gavin is really good friends with david yow (jesus lizard/scratch acid ect..) and with the band helmet so he may have met albini that way somehow as i know albini knows both tow and helmet.Funny how albini got bush to number 1 in america after their Razorblade Suitcase album which i still think fucking pisses over most of the music out there today,Ok bush lost it kinda towards the end but for me personally they made some great records in their day and well i for one had fun seeing them back in the day.

Fair play to you Mike. I think they personify a lot of what went wrong with music in the 1990s. So there ya go We'll agree to disagree Heh heh. But if Bush were around now they'd be dressed like extras from a Klaxxons video and playing spikey electronic post new wave pop. Instead of jumping on the quiet loud quiet verse chorus verse dynamic like they did back then. Musical chancers imo. Anyway grunge bands.... There should be a website like that Universal Currency Converter where you put a band name in - hit the 'convert' button and it comes up with the answer of Grunge or False Grunge or whatever So Mad Season - duuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrr - False Grunge Stone Temple Pilots - duuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrr- False Grunge Early Mark Lanegan solo stuff - duuuuuuuuuuurrrr - Dark Noir Grunge Afghan Whigs - duuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrr - Grunge Soul Seaweed - duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrr - proto emo-pop punk Grunge and on and on and on

New Melvins album - Nude With Boots - is rather good. Not sure it reachs the heights of A Senile Animal, but it's pretty damn special all the same. Not a big fan of Mike Pattons music - bt hats off to him. Yes I think I'll be makign the trip Just a bit short of cash at the moment what with Seattle in July and an expensive wedding in 2 weeks..

Err welcome back thorn,Im going to see the Butthole Surfers also on the 26 jul @ The Forum is that where you're off to see them? If so here's some information for you. For these shows, Jeff Pinkus will be on bass and Teresa Taylor (along with King Coffey) on drums. This is the rhythm section the band had for most of the 80s and marks the first time this line up has played together since 1989. Paul Leary has prior commitments and unfortunately can't play the European dates (he will be on stage for the New York City and Newmarket shows, possibly more stateside). However, fear not, our European friends. Joining Gibby and crew on stage for all shows in the US and Europe will be The Paul Green School of Rock All-Stars. This mob of teenage geniuses will blow your mind, forming a virtual Butthole Surfers Orchestra when they play with the band." Also you just missed the Meat Puppets they played in london awhile back other than that be a good boy thorn.
