Hi everybody! Just had a quick request for information from anybody willing to help out. I was curious about the re-issued version of the Piece Of Cake album with extra tracks on it. Is it a normal CD case, or is it in a cardboard thing or what? I don't know why, I'm just curious about these kind of things. Like if it's a normal CD case, is the slim piece on the left of the front (the part that doesn't open with the rest of the cover) like one of the classic black stripes, or is it clear? You probably all think I'm weird, but oh well, I'm just OCD/curious I guess. Is the booklet the same as the old CD's booklet, and if not, if it has extra content, does it at least have all the same pages that were in the old one? Also, is the back cover the same as the original CD's was? I dunno man, I'm just a freak I guess. Mind for details and all that. Nonetheless, if anyone could fill me on in this stuff I'd be appreciative. I haven't seen the CD in stores, ever, so just wanted to know. Any other extra details you could provide would be awesome, too. I tried finding photos online, but couldn't find any.

Hey. It's in a normal cd case. "The slim piece on the left of the front (the part that doesn't open with the rest of the cover)" is clear. I'm not sure about the booklet, but the re-issue has a 2-page story "adapted from the original press releases for Piece of cake & Five dollar Bob's mock cooter stew." Back cover seems the same, but off course it has more (27) songs written there. You're not a freak. When I ordered my Piece of cake, at first I was a little disappointed to see that it was a re-issue. Cheers

well if you want to get something "Piece OF Cake-special" then you have to try to get first promo: that's book-size digipack or japanese edition, it came with obi and lyrics insert. but super cool is if you get it on MC-format: it has total diff cover artwork. you can find that MC cover here: www.mudhoneysite.com/AlbumCake.htmlcheers -mika-

Hey thanks huntti, for the details, they were helpful! Woo!
Also thanks marchtofuzz for that info! I'm not familiar with "obi," though what is that (I suspect it's something obvious that I'm just not thinking of for some reason)?
I actually do have Piece of Cake on cassette with the different artwork! It's pretty cool. I think I got it around 1994; I didn't even know the CD had a different cover until years later, and I was kind of disappointed when I found out, because I'd grown so fond of the artwork on the tape version. Ah well.
I was trying to get a copy of PoC on CD still unopened but for some reason the sellers on amazon have them priced at like 20 bucks and more; that's ridiculous! You can get older unopened stuff for much cheaper. Dang capitalists.

don't worry I'll tell you: An Obi strip is traditionally a strip of paper looped around the left side or folded over the top of Japanese releases. It's not big deal for most of people, but hey this is collector's madness....
