So I just got this gem on ebay the other day and there seems not to be too much information about it. It includes the edit version of Ghost and a live version recorded on September of 1998 in a studio called Jupiter... I wonder who pick up the song as a potential single... the band? the folks at reprise? It's indeed a catchy song, but it could have been better to pick up a song of their own! And anyone know what date aprox this promo was "released"?

It is / WAS a weird choice of promo track.. considering Steve's label Super Electro put out Night Of The Hunted as a proper single. There was talk of Oblivion being a 'single' too... By this time 1998 - the concept of singles in the US was pretty much meant to mean 'will it get radio play and get on MTV / VH1' - and by this time Mudhoney weren't exactly getting the big ole promo push from WEA/Reprise. SO this track would have been sent out to college radio/retail as a taster around the album - possibly just before/possibly after release... But yeah - probably Reprise folks picked this I'd say... it is odd to choose an admittedly great cover... but as I said Mudhoney not exactly troubling the DJ hordes in late 1998 who were probably getting all sweaty about No Doubt and Lumpy Biscuit... wasn't sports or nu-metal all the rage 11 years ago? I'd guess this was late summer/autumn 1998...
