Review by Jason Ankeny Given the bone-rattling ferocity of Mudhoney's stage show, it's somewhat remarkable and entirely depressing that as of 2005, the closest thing to an official live disc is this rare promotional release issued by Reprise in tandem with the band's 1993 U.S. tour. Recorded in front of a hometown Seattle crowd on February 10, 1993, these eight songs span the duration of Mudhoney's career, from early singles like "You Got It" to latter-day efforts like Piece of Cake's "Suck You Dry" — the band is in peak form here, conjuring primordial riffs as black and viscous as tar, and Mark Arm's vocals are so raw and so impassioned that you'll pop a lozenge purely out of sympathy. The centerpiece is an astounding ten-minute rendition of "Dead Love" that transmogrifies into an impromptu tribute to the Doors.

What is this album, does anyone have and is it as good as allmusic is saying?

I have it. It's pretty good. Nice tracklist. Well recorded. It's essentially a Warners Reprise promo. Comes packaged in a clear jewel case with a simple yellowish sticker with some Piece Of Cake era artwork style. I'll did it out and post the tracklisting. Dead Love is great - if a little long. Mark riffs on the whole Jim Morrison 'The End' lyric - 'Father, I want to kill you, blah blah - and I walked on down the hall' stuff. S'funny:)
You can only really pick this up on Ebay or collectors type places. Comes up everfy few months. Better quality than some of the dodgy bootlegs going around. cheers

I wish to acquire it also....i havn't heard it in years, but I remember Make It Now and The Money Will Roll Right in being on it...I think a good idea for Mudhoney would be to release a live disc from each album's time period (EGBDF''91-92''...'COW'-95-97'') It would give the hardcore fans a chance to hear songs the band rarely played...

There is a copy on ebay right now for those interested (I am in no way affiliated with that sale). I was able to get a copy when it first came out. It is a great disc. Doesn't Kurt play the "money will roll right in" with them on it? A "live" album? Not sure if that is needed by them. The BBC sessions disc is enough in my opinion. The idea of a "live" album just always seems like a cash cow response to me.

to clarify the "live" album. A fan club release or a download would be great, don't get me wrong. What Pearl Jam has done is incredible when it comes to making shows availiable to its fans. I just don't want a "live" album then have to wait another few years for a proper release.
