Is he as good as Matt Lukin? Cuz I don't own Since We've Become Translucent (although I want to, it's hard to get it in England, all they got is Piece of Cake and My Brother The Cow). I don't want anybody to slag either Matt or Guy off, I just want to know.

Mudhoneys "new" bass player is GUY MADDISON. he has been played MARK ARMS side project called BLOODLOSS, and AU band MONROES FUR (some kind of seed of bloodloss, sounds like bloodloss without MARK) He`s great bass player, little bit diff. kind than Matt Lukin. You should buy Since We´ve Become Translucent it`s awesome record. if you order it thru yr fav rec store i`m sure that you get it !!! and yea, we all love Matt.
cheers

they have different styles, i always thought tha matt lukin had more of a fuck you kinda stomping sound, not too sure about guy madison, however he does play very well on since ive been translucent, cant complain at all!! considering mudhoney have only changed one member ever none should complain, they dont sound that different, still the mudhoney we know and love!!

Man you should be able to get it in england,im from wales like and i found it the week it was out,im pretty sure you have some good record stores in england man.mabye just need to search a little harder for the album.
And they are both good bass players, matt was great yeah,he was a good character in the band to,but the main thing is for me,at least the band are still around and banging some tunes out, despite the fact that matt is no longer there.

Guy rocks. When I saw them in London he was great. Tottaly rocking . He threw me a beer right at the end of the show and it exploded all over me. The bastard must of shook it up or something

He was great live.
Also, order Since we've become translucent through HMV, they don't add an extra shipping charge or anything...

maybe ill get flamed for this..... matt lukin was a solid time keeper type of bassist. he has a very minimulistic style.i think his style well suited mudhoney early and worked just fine on tommorow hit today and wouldve worked well on any albums thereafter had he stayed around.
but i think that guy maddison style suits their newer stuff better. hes a very melodic bassist and he seems to know when to ad a few extra notes without becoming too busy.
mudhoney has evolved a lot and i guess what im sayin is that guy is a natural part of that evolution.matt lukin was a very (for lack of a better word)punk style bassist and mudhoney just arent very punk anymore their blues leanings are more and more prevailant with every album. i reiterate i think mudhoney would still be great if they still had matt lukin. but i think guy better suits them now.
