Oh My! reading so much kicked ass this year!!!!!! The Pixies  what can i say? they were fucking amazing they looked and even sounded better than they did 10 years ago.I hope there is a new album in the future for them. Dinosaur Jr...Well as like probably one of the biggest dino fans on the planet they did what they were there to do which was to kick people's asses all over the place and show them even if J has grey hair and is going a tad bald that dont mean shit..the music is still there and they are just fucking insane even people who didnt know them who were watching them were saying who are these guys? as i was smiling with my dino t-shirt on lol.truely amazing as always. i'll tell you some more stories about it later on..i have to get my head together at the moment and have a few beers and come back down to earth.  |

Well just got back from Leeds and god was it fucking amazing. So many stories to tell and so many bands to talk about. First the main bands Pixies- Fucking amazing and Kim Deal is like an angel. Her voice....*sigh*. I'm seeing them again tomorrow. ;D QOTSA- They reeked of true rock and roll. The stagger and the singing on Josh was so fucking cool everything was so rock and roll with these guys. Dinosaur jr.- As you may know I'm not the biggest fan of these guys but god they rocked. Joe's solos were out of this world The Killers- I was disappointed with these guys. I love their album but I don't think they were that great live. Iron Maiden- I can only remember 2 songs cos I was that pissed.  fool I am. The antics and lessons learned. Never syringe vodka in to your eye. My mates eye is completely fucked up now. Me and another friend are OK, but his eye geez, a mess thats for sure. Never try to down absinthe, it's impossible. there's more but I can't be arsed writing anymore. Maybe I'll catty on later. |

Actually the line up of Lowlands sucks big time. I'd prefer a band like Earth instead of QOTSA, really. But they'd never do that. Fortunately some changes are going on in the Dutch scene. I'm planning to go to ZXZW in September which is the Dutch equivalent of SXSW. 40 Underground bands from 8 countries playing in one city for 10 euro.
I'm looking forward to some Swedish Earth-ish band and the Havalina's, a Pixies tribute band ;]
BTW, Martin did you see Joan Jett at that festival?

yes i love festivals but thats not all i saw this summer so ill have to explain:
firstly sonic youth were fucking amazing, they havent lost it they still know how to rock damn they were so good, they played drunken butterfly, and mote and fuck me were they so heavy!! it was my first time seeing them, and they all seem like really nice guys thurston was chatting away with the crowd it was mayhem!
next was the pixies and yes they too still rocked!!!!! they played planet of sound finally i got to hear to live, top form anyways, it was my second time seeing them and they played all the stuff that i didnt hear the last time like is she i weird, alison, sad punk which also kicked ass!!!!
then came dinosaur jr and o my God!!!! jay was playing thru 12 (yes just to confirm 12) marshall 250 watt stacks in a venue for a 1000 people!!! i still cant hear a fukcing thing never before have i heard such loud guitar playing and i mean really fucking loud!!!! they really rocked some solid ass that night and they played for 2 and half hours, which is more than they did at any of the festivals!!!! jealous yet!!! and they played soooooooooo many good songs little fury things, freakscene, just like heaven (not the shitty cure version) and my personal fav sludgefest and if you think the album is heavy it doesnt compare to them live far more aggressive and loud just my style!!!
and then came bob mould and he was pretty good not in the vein of husker du but still pretty good, i only wish they would reform!!!!
and to top the whole lot off it isnt over yet mudhoney on the 15th of september, now that should be the ultimate climax to the end of the summer!!!!!!!!

Kool man some nice shit there.I also am seeing mudhoney im ordering my ticktes for the london show tonight so i cant wait.Dino live yeah man i agree they are heavy as fuck i cant help but think J Masics is god playing guitar his work is so fucking awesome (hopefully you can see dino from reading on tv soon enough and see how good they were if you aint seen them).They played just like heaven to when i saw them and im sorry thorn but it is a cure song  |

They played drunken butterfly? No way man. Where was this show? Oh I forgot to mention about Iggy and the stooges at Leeds. I was pissed at this time but they still rocked. I said to the guy next to me "I am so gonna get on that stage with Iggy" The guy replies "OK then" so I get a boost onto the crowd and over the barrier. Some big brute starts taking me to the side but I thought "Fuck this, Iggy needs me" So i did a little struggle to the stage which made him carry me to the side of the crowd whilst I was shouting "IGGY!!!" on the top of my voice. I tried and failed, oh well! |

Least you tried man eh.Iggy also kicked ass at reading but he didnt get much responce from the croud i think this was down to the 40thousand odd iron maiden fans (bastards) hehe he still rocked though.

It was exactly the same at Leeds I was there rocking out and bugger all else was doing so. I got so mad I was telling them to get into it, they just looked at me funny. Wankers. At one point Iggy started saying "Hello?" as if to say "wake up motherfuckers!"
