Most of the bands I like on there. That's probably an extremly vague selection. I'm gonna jam 'Man in a box' and just play some rythm stuff. If he doesn't like Mudhoney... well i'll just cross him off like woth the dozens of other people who I've spoke to about them.
Tell all after I've done it.

That's good point but I dunno maybe if it's down to what I play not how how I play. He's not gonna want somebody who's playing the blues for a heavy band would he? But then again a guy playing the blues wouldn't ask to play would he. Aas I said i'd much rather play togther than me on my own. I dunno maybe i'll dot he riffs thing then end with some cool feedback. That has to be better than stopping suddenly then having ".....so.......uh....now what2. Do the feedback thing then say nothing and let him speak first. God i'm making a mountain out of a soddin mole hill aren't I?

Well for those of you actually bothered about it here's the news- It sucked.
I get's there and I wait for a bit and eventually he turns up with his soddin girlfriend so much for a quiet affair!. After I'd set up he says "OK, I'd like to see you play" I'm thinking fuckin hell what now. I asked what to play he told to play anything I want just play like i'm jammin on my own. So I have a diddle about on the guitar but the guy's making me so nervous and I think it showed. Eventually he agrees to listen outside even though his girlfriend is there in the room with me. I'm playing and eventually he comes back in but with two of his mates as if it couldn't of been worse who natter to each other for the rest of the night! I asked him if he wanted to jam together and he agreed so he says "I'll play some chords and you solo over it in Emj or minor it's your choice". So I does and eventually he stops playing I just decided to play some weird music with an effect on it. Eventually he stops me and says "Thanks for coming down man and I'll let you know" "Err OK, I know I'm not I'm the band but don't hang me up and not tell me" I'd only been there for less than an hour. So he helps me pack up and we leave the building leaving the rest of the guys in the room. We chatted for a little bit about Alice in Chains and Soundgarden. After putting my stuff in me car he says "I don't think your right for the band" I told him I was OK with it and hope his band goes well.
Knowing your not in the band is completely different to rejection 'cos god did it suck feeling like that.

You really do not need to worry about not being 'chosen' to be in this prize cocks band. Jesus this guy is a fool. I had a look at the thread.... words fail me (but I'll try I'm amazed that there are still folks like this pillock out there trying to 'form' bands. I like the way he tells YOU what YOUR influences ARE. You WILL like Tom Morello. What a classic! I really feel for you man - that audition sounds truly horrific. This guy certainly has issues he needs to deal with. Reminds me of Poodle haired Glam Metal dudes in the mid to late 80s who were into Poison and G'n'R/Motley Crue. The band names may have changed but that girl on one arm/musical proficiency/here are my 'licks' attitude still seems to prevail out there..... Its like 'grunge' never happened

Hehheh, Yeah your right. The problem is that the majority of the bands around here are like that. If you check all the other pages on the website loads of other people are like that. I was considering moving to London and starting a band there. It'd be a damn sight easier to get a band going there. Then again it could turn out to be one of those "the grass is greener on the other side" thing.

Sounds like that dude has got a coterie of folks kissing his ass telling him he's great. But he's got a face only a mother could love and in his own words his band are so great that they 'blew Breed 77 off the stage' (damned by faint praise)..... I don't think we'll be seeing his mug on the cover of Kerrang anytime soon As for London.... I've been living here 11 years and making the journey into town for gigs ans stuff close on 25 years.... I kinda like the place - but it's a love/hate deal. Its a stressful place and big..... kind of impersonal at times... Musically though its a veritable playground! The live scene is pretty amazing. You want to go to a gig or join a band you have a wealth of opportunities. But at the same time Glasgow's good too and in some ways easier to deal with (size wise and people are dare I say it friendlier!!). I like Leeds a lot as well. Great bands, some great labels to put your music thru, great venues and loads of shops and stuff. Brighton (where I spent my teenage years in the late '80s early '90s) is a great place to be in a band. So much to do there as well. Pubs, clubs, shops, the sea!! Nottingham and Oxford have good scenes as well. Bristol too. I don't know Preston but I'm sure it's a great place. It's all about in my opinion finding like minded people who are also importantly open minded and down to earth. The ego thing this knobber has....jesus
