I guess I need a bit of advice too, I could be possibly be trying out as a drummer for this band who actually wanted "Dave Grohl, for album promotion" etc etc. I have been called "Grohl" a couple of times, because I hit the drums so hard (current fatalities: 4 snare skins, one bass skin, 2 tom skins and many many sticks... not at the same time!), and because I'm a multi-instrumentalist. I played that song "Under Pressure" (not Queen!) down the phone, and I'm waiting to see if they are impressed or not. What should I play to them?

If you pull off 'no one knows' and 'scentless apprentice' I think they'd take you there and then. I would anyway  |

Drumming! My forte! Hit them with some Led Zep man. Trampled Underfoot or Dazed and Confused!! Bonham!! Come on!! Best rock drummer ever? But yeah Grohl. If you can pull of the bass drum thang on Scentless Apprentice then you should be in any band. Grohls drumming in QOTSA is pretty damn exceptional - I TOTALLY agree h8kurdt 'No One Knows'.... I saw Grohl play that live in London and it took my head off!! How are they expecting you to do this 'audition'? Good luck!!! It's not Killing Joke is it? Ha ha ha  Let us know how you get on!! What kind of drums do you play? Brand wise... sorry gear talk again! |

I can do Scentless Apprentice. It took me ages to play it right. No One Knows verse I can play, but when the vocals go "And I Realise your mine", forget about it. That's quite hard. And Song For The Dead is so hard to play.
