In all seriousness, they ARE sell-outs and they're good at it. What other band releases as much crap as they do? Fetuses, Nike's, a shit load of music, coffee table books, more books, and the list goes on and on. I'm still waiting for an appearance on the Simpsons.

Hey there Norecess for the benefit of the class explain to me 'selling out' please  What are they 'selling out'? Their died in the wool socialist princples? Are you saying that 'selling out' is bad? My tuppence. They write music. They play shows. They make some 'merch' - you either buy it or ya don't. I won't be buying their doll as it kinda seems a bit silly. I bought one of the books as it looked kinda cool (and it is - and it looks SO good on my coffee table next to my Rollins books, my Glen E Friedman, Frank Kozik books etc - didn't you know Punk Rock IS coffee table now). I buy all their CDs as I'm a fan of their music and I go see them as much as I can as think they're pretty pretty good live. I usually don't buy a t shirt as I'm not sure I wanna (for example) walk around with a picture of a dog shitting on my chest Sell outs for signing to Warners? Or Ipecac? Or signing with anyone? I've seen (for example) what their average CD sales are in the UK - they're not exactly selling out over here I can tell ya. They survive by doing all the bolt on stuff - merch etc. I don't think Buzz appearing on a Fox News show is selling out. I think it's a....sad. |
