Drums:
Would like an original early '70s John Bonham style Ludwig Vistalite drum set. Preferably in clear orange. Oversized bass drum, 2 x floor toms, 1 rack tom. BIG cymbals (old Paistes are my favourites) etc.
Ludwig mmmm:) Any early 70s Ludwig kit would do me though!!
Bass:
I kinda like Rickenbacker 4001 bass guitars. So one of them in sunbusrt or red please Santa!! Whack that through an old Ampeg SVT head and bass cab.
If I couldn't get me hands on a Rickenbacker and old Fender Precision would suffice.
May need some kind of box to fatten the sound out....
Guitars:
Ok. ok...I've got meself a nice Jazzmaster. So...I'm not being greedy here but I think I'd like a few guitars hanging about, just in case.
Gonna need a nice old Blonde 60s Telecaster too. Maybe a Gretsch or two (one old hollowbody like a Country Gent and then a Duojet or something).
Not a huge fan of Les Pauls, but I wouldn't say no to a Gibson SG, either an early LP version or a Junior with a tremelo. Again all this gears gotta be from the 60s!!
Naturally gonna need to whack this through an array of pedals (before I get to me amps:)
Gonna need some Electro Harmonix stuff. An EH Memory Man and a Clone Theory. Have to get me hands on an old Big Muff too. May need a new Wah. Some Roger Mayer stuff, a Univibe. Wouldn't say no to one of those new Fulltone OCD pedals. You can never have too many boxes on hand!
So gonna have to whack this through a few amps.
Fancy a late 60s Marshall Plexi. Maybe a couple of cabs.... Might have to keep on hand an old Fender Bassman too. That'll do me!
Misc:
Would love an old Moog and maybe a few other keyboards.. Fender Rhodes? Hammond? Pedal steel? Ha ha ha. Sorry getting out of hand!
Now does anybody have a copy of Ragged Glory by Neil Young? Now I would like to house all this gear in a nice big room like the one Neil Young rehearses/records in on his Broken Arrow ranch:) Pictured on that Ragged Glory album sleeves Not too much to ask is it!! I'd have a vocal PA set up. Jam down in the barn with me mates whenever the feeling takes me. Maybe a small desk to record stuff, bit of outboard gear, some nice old mics etc etc. Ok ok A HOME STUDIO!
thanks....
Never gonna happen unless I win the lottery. One can dream though!!
Listening to Ragged Glory now - forgotten what a great Neil Young album this is!!!
