i got SONIC YOUTH JUNE 2004 NEWSLETTER today it reads "This week Sonic Youth will have two performances broadcast: On Wednesday June 9 they will be on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The next morning, June 10, the band will perform live on the Morning Becomes Eclectic program on KCRW in Los Angeles. This performance will stream on the internet as well, check out www.kcrw.com " there was other stuff too but i think SY fans has got their own mail as well, so this info's for not so hardcore SY fans  i got my Sonic Nurse few days ago and it sounds so awesome, hope everyone buy that record sooner or later !!! awh by the way the sonic nurse enchanced extras opened today SONIC NURSE CD EXTRAS are: 1. "UNWRITTEN" VIDEO EXAMINATION OF THE PROCESS BEHIND THE WRITING OF "PAPER CUP EXIT." 2. "PEACE ATTACK" VIDEO cheers |

i love the artwork. the dvd is great too. i highly suggest buying that along with the new album if you haven't already! both are simply amazing!!! & a little note on the back of the dvd seems to hint at a future release of all of their pre-geffen era videos on dvd!

by the way, did anyone record their perfomance on Jay Leno the other nite? i recorded it but my vcr screwed up & all i got was fuzz & static. needless to say i was quite upset.

thanks for posting those links marchtofuzz! some great shows indeed.
also, the KCRW will continue to stream both SY performances, but you can't download the actual audio files, just a link to the rm stream itself. that's why i captured the audio data stream & converted it over to .wavs to offer anyone who wants an actual copy of the show. otherwise check out the link to the stream marchtofuzz posted, they're both great performances/interviews.
i just checked the links to the KCRW & the direct rtsp urls to the rm streams aren't working, so i guess you have to go to the KCRW site (the first KRCW link marchtofuzz listed) & then open the stream from the site link.
oh, & they have the video up for the 6/10/04 show now too.

Official statement about Corporate Ghost Pal Problems
in the Official Sonic Youth website news section
there's some consolation for us European SY-fans:
"UPDATE: Sonic Youth have become aware of menu problems on Corporate Ghost in PAL regions. Universal Records has identified the problem and all DVD's manufactured from this point will be the corrected version.
Anyone who has a defective version will be able to exchange for a functioning DVD. We will let you know details as soon as we have them."
