Just some lanegan news..
Mark Lanegan
Mark Lanegan releases his brand new album 'Bubblegum' on August 2nd 2004 in the
UK, and August 10th in the US.
Prior to the long-awaited release of 'Bubblegum', Beggars Banquet are making
available two tracks as a worldwide download single on Monday 12th July.
'Sideways In Reverse' and 'Driving Death Valley Blues' (BBQ 378DL) were among
the last to be written and recorded for the album, and are reminiscent of the
heyday of Screaming Trees, and of course, Mark's work with Queens Of The Stone
Age over the last couple of years.
Mark has just completed a great video for 'Sideways In Reverse' and this can be
viewed on the Beggars website shortly. It is currently playlisted on MTV2 in the
UK, so keep watching and you might catch it there!
Assured of his place in musical history as frontman of Screaming Trees, vocalist
for Queens Of The Stone Age and as a critically acclaimed solo
singer/songwriter, Mark Lanegan hinted at the brilliance of 'Bubblegum' with
last year's teaser EP, 'Here Comes That Weird Chill (Methamphetamine Blues,
Extras, and Oddities)'. Featuring 15 Mark Lanegan originals, 'Bubblegum' could
be considered a crowning achievement in his long lasting career.
Musical assistance on 'Bubblegum' comes from luminaries including Queen Of The
Stone Age bandmates Joshua Homme and Nick Oliveri, PJ Harvey (who provides
vocals on 'Hit The City' and 'Come To Me'), Izzy Stradlin and Duff McKagan from
Guns And Roses/Velvet Revolver, Afghan Whigs and Twilight Singers' Greg Dulli,
Ween's Dean Ween, Eleven's Alain Johannes and Masters of Reality's Chris Goss
(guitar) amongst others. The album was produced by Mark Lanegan, with assistance
from Chris Goss and Alain Johannes.
AWESOME OR WHAT!
