Pretty interesting interview spread over 3 x pages in his months new METAL HAMMER with Reuben drummer from Nebula. He kinda concedes that the band lost their way a bit after the Charged release. Takes a bit of a pop at previous labels (though he doesn't mention 'em I think he means Sub Pop....) and 'management' and suggests Atomic Ritual ain't all that! Don't know if this is just a band slipping into the slag the old album routine and praise the new one 'cos I kinda like a few tracks on that album, especially So It Goes.... Nebula it seems are now 10 years (christ thats gone past fast!!) into their 'career' and accepting of their 'cult' status. They know they're not gonna be a BIG band like (eek!!) Monster Magnet of QOTSA and are happy to carry on putting out records and doing the do! I mean to get to Monster Magnet status you really have to sweeten up your sound, dress in silly clothes and do the whole metal schtick..... can't really see Eddie G doing that. Nor would it work!! All power to em I say!!! Looks like they'll be over in Europe soon-ish after their US tour too. I mean Nebula have worked with some cool folks. Jack Endino & Chris Goss for example. I'm not saying they've 'had their chance' but in a way without the push of a bigger indie (and Sweet Nothing are my favourite UK label EASILY!!! so I'm not having a pop at them) who will push for more press and ads - fly em over for upfront PR blah blah blah and without a tune that will do a QOTSA for 'em (Feel Good Hit or whatever) and 'cross over' at radio they'll stay a 'cult'. Anyways......just musing on this. ta:)

Speaking of Monster Magnet, I'm curious who thinks Dave Wyndorf accidently OD'ed and who thinks he wanted to get out.

I'm not a Monster Magnet fan either but I like to watch their shtick every once in a while, they put on a pretty good show. I think Dave wanted to get out, is it's actually pretty sad. Too bad I'll be missing Witchcraft now.

OK! So I understand now.... I Googled and.... from Drowned In Sound website:
While he may have been off the scag for years it seems old habits die hard for Monster Magnet frontman Dave Wyndorf who is currently in hospital following a drugs overdose in LA. Their entire European tour, due to kick-off at Wolverhampton Wulfrun tomorrow, has subsequently been postponed. Says manager Steve Davis, ?The battle with one?s inner demons is the most personal fight any of us can undertake. The fight is at times a lonely, confusing journey. On the evening of February 27, Dave Wyndorf suffered a set back in his own fight and was hospitalized due to a drug overdose. His full recovery is expected. We ask that all those he has encountered over the years or simply affected by his music to take a moment to think good thoughts of and for him. With the grace of God and those who love him we are all confident that Dave will rebound from this set back and continue to play and make great rock and roll.?

For those who like Nebula, check out Earthless. They are a three-piece with the guitar player from Nebula and released an album last year. The album consists of two songs only, or should I say jams? Both songs top the length of twenty minutes and could be described as fuzzy stoner with lots of solos. Really, go check it out.
