well sonic was great, the thing that bothered me is that they didnt play any of their classic stuff, teenage riot ect. they played most of the stuff from RR and then they played mote which was fucking amazing and they played the world looks red and shaking hell.
then i went on to see the dream/aktion unit. it was amazing, going to ebay to pick up blood shadow rampage

at one point 2 chicks came on stage and started kissing, then they went for thurston but he ran away.
but dream/aktion unit was awesome, they jammed for like 2 hours and everyone was shouting 'play a real song!' and then loads of people left.
yeah the audience was shit, especially with dream/aktion, everyone left. i was standing right infront of thurston and taking pictures of him, i dont think he liked that. kim and mark were backstage and they were pretty awesome as well. yeah but they left cause they couldnt handle it! i was standing right next to the speaker and my ears....my god.... i woke up at 3pm the next day. amazing huh?
i wanted to see the julie mittens, but i, being a complete shithead fucker left my ticket at home and i had to go back, i heard from thurston that they were so loud, they broke the windows.
edit: i heard mono was pretty fucking awesome, the bass player got a glass of beer thrown in her face and then they came down and talked to the audience. i wish i could have went there

The Julie Mittens are good. They had gained quite an impressive reputation already after just a few recordings which they had given away to friends. I think Wire wrote some stuff about them, and I heard maybe two months ago that Holy Mountain, the label, had shown interest. And the funny part was that a Japanese guy had recommended them.
So you didn't see Mono? Bummer man, they're really good live. They came down? Who? The glass throwers? Did they discuss the event on stage. just like the Fugazi way? I think having a crew who can kicks these fucks out immediately so the band can continue playing is way more effective.

Aha, OK. Actually, that's pretty cool, but also nothing special. They are not that big you know, in Paradiso they were playing the small room, upstairs. You can pretty much meet everyone from every band who plays there. Do you like Mono? If so, how about Explosions In The Sky? They play in Paradiso in February. I saw them before and hope they're better live this time.

I love sonic youth! Kim is an inspiration and I love her other band, Free Kitten as well.
