So I thought I'd start a thread dedicated to Mudhoneys gear/equipment. Guitar, drums, pedals, keyboards and amps.... and other stuff! Studio recordings....Brass instruments!! I am a gear head....sorry There have been a few great articles knocking about over the years. Probably the best one I have is a UK one from Guitar magazine circa 1998 post the Tomorrow Hit Today album. With some help I'm going to try and get it scanned or transcribed and up here. Dug out a great article last night from around 1991. US Guitar mag interview with Steve done by a guy called James Rotondi. Need to get this scanned.... great picture of Steve sat in his apartment (I guess!)surrounded by guitars, fuzz boxes and records wielding a Harmony Stratotone! (big old semi acoustic 'budget' guitar from the 60s). Couple of Steve quotes: "I don't really admire skill, it just doesn't matter to me" "My favourite guitar players are Bo Diddley, Neil Young, the late Lee Stevens from Blue Cheer and I really like the first Stooges record with Ron Asheton" "Davy Allen is another guitar player I really like" I'll try and scan or transcribe this all later!! Sorry got a bathroom to re-decorate today! So yeah - hope this is all ok. Wanna try and build up an archive of the bands gear and stuff over the years. I remember a few years ago someone on Ebay (US) was selling off used pedals from a Mudhoney tour... anyone see that? Later on!!!

!!! of what I hear, Steve still use his old amp circa 88'? maybe. and I remember reading an interview where Mark said he had 9 guitars. We know 3 for sure, the Hangstrom, Silver Jet and the Telecaster. In that case, maybe he has a couple of Hangstrom and the Jaguar might be in his posession still. and about Steve, lately he's been using his Starfire IV only. As far as I know, Guy only takes on tour his Fender Precission Bass ... and Dan ... I have no idea !!

Steve has quite a large stompbox collection. From what i've seen, his live setup doesn't change too drastically from show to show. He usually goes: Colorsound Wah-Big Muff-Memphis Distortion-Octive Pedal-Tuner. Here is a link to Mark's live setup...http://guitargeek.com/rigview/270/

From the Portland Mercury interview: Are you and Steve [Turner] still rocking the legendary Superfuzz and Bigmuff stomp boxes?
He still uses a Bigmuff. The Superfuzz died probably in, like, '90.
You should have your own signature pedal from Sovtek. I'm pretty sure Superfuzz Bigmuff is responsible for selling thousands of their Bigmuff reissues.
That could've been.
Everybody I knew had one. You should get a cut.
Some company in Denmark actually makes a Mudhoney pedal. It's not a fuzz pedal; just an overdrive pedal. I emailed them and asked them if they'd send us two. They wrote back and told me how much it would cost. I was like "Fuck you!" I told them I was in the band Mudhoney too, so it was kind of weird. Steve actually broke down and bought one.
You'd almost have to.
I haven't made that leap yet.Aha! So def. a Mudhoney Fuzzbox made by those T Rex engineering folks: www.t-rex-engineering.com/default.asp?show=page&id=2330Thats outrageous that they wouldn't send the band a couple of free ones! That Guitar Geek page is good but doesn't seem to have been updated in years. Which is a shame

Well we all know Mark's original distortion pedal was the Superfuzz...but according to guitargeek.com, Mark's live setup in '99 was Dunlop Cry-baby Wah-Wah-Boss Octave-Ibanez 60's Fuzz-MXR Distortion.

As soon as I figure out how to put pictures up here, I took photos of both Mark and Steve's setup on Saturday night. I'll try to get these up today sometime.
