teh Grunge Pedal LOL. Was probably the first pedal i bought though i think i thought it would sound just as i wanted (but i was young & naive back then) as i grew older i found that its more fun to experiment with diffrent pedals and other various thing to find the sound you'r looking for,i still aint found it yet but im half way there. Thats a tricky one thorn,im not really sure at this moment in time,im check back later if i think of one.

It's more of a Distortion pedal than say the Big Muff which is I guess more a fuzz.....well whatever it is I was a bit dissapointed when I saw/heard a guy testing one a few weeks back. It's less fuzzy - more crunchy. Not as good as say a Rat or a DOD Overdrive. Big dissapointment. Even the guy in the shop was advising the customer not to buy it and invest in a normal Big Muff instead....

poissibly the EH Tube Zipper? check out the EH site - could be an English Muffin? www.ehx.com/ehx2/Default.asp?q=f&f=%2FCatalogI like some of the EH stuff - the Smallstone IS a GREAT pedal SmallClone is cool too. My Electric Mistress is groovy and I dig my Big Muffs. Was thinking of investing in an EHay pedal but went for the Line 6 Echo Park instead.... kinda regret it a bit but wanted the scope of backwards reverse and all the Line 6 schnizzle - not like I'm ever gonna be out playing live pedal hopping on stage!!! If you want a versatile stomp box overdrive unit the Fulltone OCD is highly rated but well over £100. The EH Big Muffs just rock it imo.

the other guitarist in my band has a big muff, i heard about this messa boogie pedal that also has a valve but makes things sound even better than the electroharmonics pedal i was describing above, anyone know anything about it? i really just want the loudest, dirtiest, crazisent, fuzziest motherfucker of a pedal something that reaches new lows in fuzz!!!!

'cos I am such a sad trainspotter I keep an eye of Mudhoney gear - hance this thread I guess. I've been really tempted to invest in a T Rex Mudhoney pedal recently. Came very very close this weekend. Nearly bought a new one - bottled it - then nearly bought a 2nd hand one - but the dude in the shop didn't know how much to sell it to me for.... doh!! Ended up buying 2nd for a good price (price of a bunch of traded CDs in the Tape Xchange - so essentially I didn't pay for it at all) one of those DOD Overdrive PreAmps 250 that both Steve and Mark use. Yup I am that shallow! It's great though! Got a cool MXR yellow vibe to it and racing stripes!! WOO! But it does sound great. Its a subtle overdrive. You can turn the gain all the way to get gnarly distortion or keep it half way ish for a sorta Stonesy distortion. It works great with my Telecaster and thru my Fender Blues! s'nice!!!
