Its actually not as cheesy as it sounds. I too was skeptical at first but after I visited it, I had fun. Paul Allen (one of the microsoft founders) is a huge music fan and started this museum. If you are a fan of Jimi Hendrix, it really is the holy grail. The amount of Jimi stuff is extensive. They have a northwest music wing which has great memorabilia of bands that are from Oregon and Washington. This is where the mudhoney gear is. the wing also has lots of Nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, and many, many other bands gear and just plain stuff. If you get the headphones for oral tour through the wing, Mark Arm is the narrator. There are many other wings with lots of music history from all over the world too. One of my favorite items is the power of attorney for Peter Jesperson to act as guardian for Tommy Stinson so he could tour with the replacements as a minor. There is a songwriters room to that has a video which includes Steve Turner talking about writing "Touch Me I'm Sick." Actually lots of good stuff there. Check it out at www.emplive.org/

If I ever get on a plane again - I think one of my destinations would be the Pacific North West . I would go to the EMP I think. It looks interesting. I like the architecture Rock and roll in a museum is fine with me. I'm thinking of investing in a new knock about guitar - purely for home use - my 66 Jazzmaster is great and all - but kinda hard to play.... I'm thinking of spending about £500 (whats that about $900?) on a new guitar. Sorely tempted by a Daphne Blue Fender Mustang re-issue or maybe just a solid Fender Telecaster. But then again maybe it's worth waiting to see how much the J Mascis Signature Fender Jazzmaster is gonna sell for.... S'about time Steve Turner had a signature Daphne Blue Fender Mustang...with STP sticker!
